Mini Tilda Easel Card Box Tutorial

Hello everyone! Today, I would like share with you the tutorial of a mini easel box. I made a few of these boxes for my daughter's teachers. These mini boxes are measured 3" x 3" when it's closed. My daughter gave these boxes to her teachers on the last day of school. We filled these boxes with candies, then put them inside clear plastic bag and added a scallop tag on each of the bag.

Here are the material you need:
****Mini Easel Card***
1 Stamped image - Lazy Summer Day Tilda from Magnolia-licious. Colored it and cut it out.
Cardstock - 6" x 3" (for card base)
Cardstock (2 pieces) - 2 3/4" x 1 1/4"(top & bottom base layer for card front)
Pattern paper (2 pieces) - 2 1/2" x 1" (top & bottom base layer for card front)
Pattern paper - 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" (for the inside)
Cardstock - 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" (Frame for card front)
Pattern paper - 2 1/4" 2 1/4" (To put on top of frame for card front)
Cardstock - 2 3/4" x 1 1/4" (Stopper to hold the easel card open)

***Drawer***
Cardstock - 8 1/2" x 3" (Wrapper for the drawer to tuck in)
Cardstock - 4 7/8" 4 7/8" (Drawer base)
Pattern Paper - 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" (to lay inside the drawer)
Pattern Paper (7 pieces) - 2 5/8" x 3/4" (side pattern panel to decorate the drawer)
(Of these 7 pieces, 4 pieces are for inner side, 1 piece is for the front drawer, 2 pieces are for the side of the wrapper)

***Tools & Accessories***
Scoring tool - Scor-Pal or any other scoring tool, Scor-tape or any strong double-sided tape, Paper Glue, foam dots, Scissor, Martha Stewart corner punch, Martha Stewart border punch, Flowers, pearls

********Step to make the easel card*********

Take the 3" x 6" cardstock. With the long edge across, score at 1 1/2", 3". Fold the score line to form the easel card base

Adhere the two 2 1/2" x 1" pattern paper pieces on the two 2 3/4" x 1 1/4" cardtock pieces as (the left picture shown below). Then adhere these two panels on top & bottom of the mini easel card front

Take the 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" pattern paper and adhere it inside the card (see picture below)

Take the 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" cardstock and to punch the border with a pair of Martha Stewart corner & border punches. Then to adhere the 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" pattern paper on the punched border cardstock

Add the Lazy Summer Day Tilda image and flowers to complete this front cover.

Apply some Scor-tape on the lower back of the front cover, adhere it to the mini easel card front.

To create the stopper for this easel box - Take the border punch to the top & bottom of the 2 3/4" x 1 1/4" cardstock piece, add some pearls on top and apply some double-sided foam dots on the back (see pictures below)

Adhere the stopper piece on the lower part of the inside. This mini easel card basically is completed. Set aside for now and let's work on the bottom drawer.

********Step to make the drawer*********

To create the wrapper for the drawer to tuck in, take the 8 1/2" x 3" cardstock piece, with the long edge across top, score at 1", 4", 5", 8". Fold the score lines.

Take two pieces of 2 3/4" x 1 1/4" pattern paper and adhere them on the side of the wrapper. Apply Scor-tape on the edge of the 1/2" score line. (see picture below)

Fold the wrapper together and adhere it together. (see picture below)

Take the 4 7/8" x 4 7/8" square piece cardstock, score 1" on each four side.

After folding the score lines, cut a slit on each 2 sides (Please see below)

To adhere 1 piece of 2 5/8" x 3/4" pattern paper on one side, which will be the front drawer (see picture on the left) . To make a handle for the drawer, poke two holes on the front drawer, take two brads and put them on each side of a little piece of ribbon. Push the brads into the two poke holes to create a little handle for the drawer. (see the picture on the right)

Apply paper glue on the four corners of this box to glue and form a drawer box

Once you adhered the four corners to form the drawer box, adhere the four pieces of 2 5/8" x 3/4" pattern paper and the 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" pattern paper inside the box as picture below

You can now tuck the drawer inside the wrapper

Apply Scor-tape on the wrapper top, adhere the mini easel card and drawer together. Now the mini easel drawer box is basically done.

Here is the finished project

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will get a chance to try this tutorial :o)
