Handmade DIY Wedding Banner + Bird Cage Tea Light

Good morning everyone. I know I have not been blogging as much lately, because I've been busy making some wedding decorations. Yes, some of you might know that my nephew's wedding is coming up in September. I have made some decorations for him and his bride to be. Besides the wedding cake centerpiece I made earlier which you can see in THIS POST, I also made them a banner and some bird cage tealight. Since this is going to be a 'bird theme' wedding, I added a couple cute little birdies that I cut out from my Cricut Expression. I also added some netting as veil for the lady bird and a little hand cut bow for the groom bird.

***Mini Birdcage Tealight***
First, let's see the little mini bird cage tealight. I made these tealight from the inspiration of this link. However, I wanted to make it glow, so I use a tealight as my base.

Here are a couple pictures to show you when the tealight is on.

***Wedding Banner***
Here is my finished banner. This banner is quite big. Each letter measured at least 4".

Here is a closer view of the first letter. First I used the bigger Martha Stewart punch to punch out the lace borders, then I used crimper to crimp the background white & DP. I also cut out the letter using Cricut as well. I embossed each of the cut out letters.

Closer view of the little birdies. I also embossed their wings too.

Picture below shows you the thickness of this banner when it folded up.

Sometimes ago, my husband found this paper box for me and the banner happened to fit in the box.

I added the left over DP to put on the cover, then added some netting to tie the box when it's closed.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you like these ideas. Hope to see you soon :o)

Edwin with Binoculars Magnolia-licious Inspiration Challenge DT Card

Good morning and today it's time for the Magnolia-licious Inspiration Challenge hosts by our sweet Designer Teammate LINDA. This time Linda picked the following picture to challenge you creating a project.

I created a square white card with a red border. I saw the navy on the cake top of this pictures and remember I bought Edwin with Binoculars of the 2010 Bon Voyage Collection from Magnolia-licious. This image is so cute and I really wanted to use Edwin for a card since I haven't use him for a while. The sentiment "Thank You" is from the 2011 Sweet Rainbow Collection. Because the sentiment is to do with rainbow, I hand drawn some rainbow coloring on it. I found some cloud brads that I put away and finally got a chance to use them.

Don't forget, by joining this challenge, one lucky winner will be randomly pick to win a $25.00 Magnolia-licious gift certificate. Hope to see your creation at the Challenge blog.

I am also using this card for the following challenges:
Totally Papercrafts Challenge - One for the boys
The Crafty Pad Challenge 131 - Embossing Heat & Dry
Craft Ann's Challenge 45 - Dry embossing/Debossing (or both)
Totally Gorjuss Challenge 90 - Punch or Die
The Poodles Parlour Challenge - White, Red & Blue

Herer is a closer view of Edwin

And a closer view of the sentiment

Edwin and Tilda Fishing the Day Away Centre Step card

Good morning and welcome for today's Magnolia-licious Summer Bash Blog Hop. If you come from our lovely SHARON's blog, you are in the right track. Otherwise, please go back to the Magnolia-licious Hightlites Blog to start your hop. There are prizes for this blog hop too.

PRIZES FOR THIS BLOG HOP:
There are two ways to win for this hop, so please be sure to go over to the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog to check out the rules details and following are the prize picture(s) for the random winner that emails the phrase correctly---it is $100 worth of goodies PLUS 5 Mini Magnolia stamps of their choice AND a Scor-Buddy—that’s a lot of fun!! Second prize goes to someone who does a project and they get 2 stamps from Diana’s store of their choice.

For this blog hop, I prepared a center step card. I picked images from Magnolia-licious Store for this card today. Since this card theme is related to fishing, I picked Edwin Waiting For Fish and Tilda Gone Fishing. Then I wanted to set them in an outdoor scene. I altered the background stamp and add a mini lake area to attach it the background stamp. In addition, I added some glossy accent on top to create some watery effect. I also used some embroidery thread to replace the fish line on their fishing rods of the stamps.

Here are the closer view of these images.

And the closer view of this background image with a little free hand cut lake. I colored the lake with copic marker BG10, then applied the glossy accent on top to make it look watery.

I poked a hold and let Edwin's fish rod through the hole. For Tilda, I created a little hook using a thin wire and wrapped it to the end of her rod.

Tilda & Edwin Outer Space Step Card

Good morning everyone. Hehe, another Magnolia card. I received my summer kit from Magnolia last week. Yes, it's late because of the postal strike in Canada. Well, it didn't matter to me since I still have quite a few Magnolia stamps that I haven't get a chance to use yet. While I was watching TV the other day, I colored these stamps at the same time. Last night, I decided to put these stamps together on a card. I am using this card for some challenges, please scroll down to the bottom of this post for the challenges.

Here is my finished card with an outer space scene. I embossed the background DP and the earth image.

Here are the closer views on these stamps. The cute Edwin & Tilda

The fun Rocket & stars

I added some glossy accent on the glass bowl and some puff on the cloud. I also applied some stickle on the puffy cloud.
