Your Next Stamp - Mobile tutorial

Today, instead of just posting a finished project, I would like to do a little tutorial just for fun. This is a tutorial for a little hanging paper mobile. The image I used for today is the "Lady Buggie" image from Your Next Stamp. I hang this mobile on the curtain rod and its a perfect place, but I took it down to hang it by the light, so you can see it closer on the photo below.

You need a Sizzix machine, Spiral die cutter, a 1 3/8 inch circle punch. I also used the spellbinder Nesibilities Scallop circle cutter too which is optional.

Cut 10 pieces of scallop circles as the background for the circle punchies, but not necessarily if you don't have this.

Stamp 10 ladybug images on white cardstock and color them (I colored them with my Copic makers). Punched them out with the 1 3/8" circle punch. Used sponge to rub chalk around the edges for each circles. (see picture) If you have the scallop circle punchies, you can adhere the circles on the scallop circle just to add a bit more shape, but if you don't have one, you can just leave it as circle shape.

Take 2 colored scallop circles/or circles and adhered them back sides together, so that you will see the colored image on both sides. After adhered them all, you will ended up with a total of 5 circles.

Punch out the spiral shape from the Spiral cutter as the mobile base. Besides punching a hole in the center for tying a ribbon to hang this mobile, you also have to punch five holes randomly around the spiral shape for inserting strings/ribbons to hold the image circles. To finish, just cut different length of strings/ribbons and tie them with the circles (you have to punch a hole to each circle to let the string/ribbon through), then connect them by tying the other end on the spiral. (See picture below)

That's all I have for you for today. Sorry if this tutorial seems incomplete to you as I don't do tutorials that often, but still hope you will like it!

I am working on more projects and will do some more postings for you soon. I also finished a couple cards using Tilda and Edwin images from the Winter Kit from Sweden. Will share them with you sometimes next week or so. Thanks for stopping by and will see you soon :o)

This is a really cute project - a fun project to do with kids too. Great job on the tutorial. I don't have the Sizzix machine but maybe I can just draw a spiral and cut that out. Thanks for the idea. hugs, Angela

This is so cute! And a great tutorial. :-) I know what you mean about making tutorials - I get caught up in my crafting and forget to take pictures, lol.
