Sugar Nellie - Gorjuss Girl Just a Girl

Hello to you all and thanks for stopping by. As I mentioned yesterday, I would be posted the Gorjuss Girl card today. This card was made in a small size 5 1/4 x 5 1/4. This image is small than the Tilda stamps.

Since I only have the oval Nestie (no scallop), I use the Stampin UP scallop's edge punch and cut each 2 scallop out and position them to adhere them around the small oval cardstock, then adhered it on a bigger oval cardstock. It was time consuming, but it wasn't hard to do at all though.

This coming week, I have tons of thank you cards to work on as I have some secret swaps that are going to be ended. Got to send some TY cards for my SS'. Maybe I can do more Tildas, not sure yet?! Will see......

Tilda and Edwin Butterflies Chasing card

I hope all of you are enjoying the weekend. Weather in here is so beautiful and sure hope you enjoy the sun so far!

Since the weather is so nice, I am going to post a Tilda & Edwin chasing butterfly card. This is a card I completed yesterday night using Tilda & Edwin's stamps combined with Stampin Up's "Flight of the Butterfly" set.
I have a very difficult time when cutting out the Butterfly Tilda's antenna, I also added stickle on them. It was a nightmare for me, but they didn't break...phew!

Her antennas are my nightmare.

I am now working on a card using the Sugar Nelles' Grojuss Girl set 1 I bought a few weeks ago, will post it tomorrow once I get it done.
See you all tomorrow and thank you for dropping by!

Besides the card I've made, I also wanted to post a card I received from the mail today from Melissa. I encourage you to visit Melissa's blog to view some of her amazing card. Thank you Melissa. I love the card, it is so cute!

Sarah Kay - Gardener card

Hello all, thank you for stopping by. Thank you for all the sweet comments and my daughter read them all. She would like to thank you too!

Today, I am going to post a smaller card (5 1/4" x 5 1/4") which used an image I received a while ago from another cardmaker who sent it to me. She was nice enough to send me a few Sarah Kay stamp images. I would have more opportunities to color them for more cards in the future. Meanwhile, I still have some brand new stamps from the Magnolia Chasing Butterfly Bundles which I haven't have time to try them yet. I think 24 hours a day is just too short!

Besides the standard material, I've used rub-on & Jolee's embellishment for this card.

Thank you again for visiting and have a great evening. Good night!

My daughter's winning & Tilda Thank You card

Hello to you all and thank you for visiting my blog.

Today, before I posted my card images, I would like to dedicate this little space to my daughter's teacher "Ms. Holmes" by saying a big THANK YOU to her. Last week, my daughter came home with an information sheet about a story writing contest. She said to me that Ms. Holmes gave her and her friend Molly the sheet and suggested to them that they should enter. This story contest was supported by a local bookstore and quite a few sponsors. Molly and my daughter Jasmine both wrote a story about two girls using Harry Potter spells against You Know Who's (Voldemort's) daughter. Yesterday, my husband received a call from the bookstore telling us that Jasmine and Molly won a prize and we would have to be there at the store on Sunday at 5pm (which is today) for the presentation of her prize. My husband and I decided not to tell Jasmine, as we wanted her to be more surprise, we told her that the bookstore called and told us all the contestents were to be there for the announcement of the winners, but not sure who would be the winners until then.

Today, she found out that Molly and her were the 2nd prize winners, they were presented the prize bags by local author Robin Stevenson. They each got a bag of goodies. The most exciting goodie she got from the goodie bag was a book called "Spelling B and the missing magic". The cover stated "uncorrected proof - not for sale - paperback publication July 2009". Was she ever excited to be able to read a book like that!

Here are some of the pictures of today's event:

Robin presenting the prizes for Jasmine & Molly. We are proud of you two.

She is so excited about her winning.

I've made a "Thank you" card for Ms. Holmes to thank her for her encouragement to the girls. Here are the pics for the cards and detail info of these cards.

Edwin Birthday Card

Good Morning and thank you again for stopping by.

I had a busy night, but was able to finish a birthday card for my nephew. He is not the type of guy who likes fancy stuff. Therefore, I tried to make the card as simple and clean as possible yet wanted to personalized a bit. Here is the card:

For the embellishments, I used a package of Jolee's again for his hat, cupcake. The present he was holding was originally three levels gifts, but I choose the bigger one and trim the edge a bit to adjust it's size to fit it into his hands.

I also found the perfect vellum quote just for him. He loves to sleep in, so this would just be so wonderful. LOL! Because there are quite a few family members going to sign this card, so once again, I've prepared a bigger blank page for signing. To make this signing space, I've cut a piece of cardstock measuring 9" x 4". With the long side across the cutter, from left score them 3 inches & 6 inches again. Just folder each side toward the middle.

Thanks again for come by for a visit! Hugs~

Stamp sets: Stampin Up, Magnolia - Edwin holding mushroom
Ink: Stampin Up ink pads, Copic markers
cardstock: Stampin Up
Pattern Paper: My Mind's Eye
Accessories: Jolee's stickers, DCWV quote, dew drops, star clips, rhinestone brads, stickle, cuttlebug embossed folder
Punch: Stampin Up

Graduation Tilda Card

Good evening and thank you for stopping by. As I mentioned earlier that I was going to make my niece's graduation card. After hours and hours of struggling with ideas and sewing (my sewing machine hates me tonight), I finally came up with something. Phew.....!

For some reasons, my sewing maching didn't work very well, I guess it decided to take a long rest soon. Oh well, I have a little "Barbie" sewing machine for back up if my real sewing machine didn't work. To make a long story short, I finished it.

Beside the Tilda with slate stamp, I've also used two packages of Jolee's embellishment. One was the Diploma itself (you can see it inside the card) and the other graduation package comes with hat, diplomas, gown, etc .

The original Tilda stamp was holding a textbook, but I've cut her hand along the line and tucked the diploma to cover the textbook just to fit this graduation theme better. In addition, I put the hat on her although it's a little bigger, but I've tried to custom make her one which turned out not as good, so to make things easier, I just use the premade one from Jolee's.

I've also used the labe slider alphas from Spare Parts to make the word "Congrat" on the card front. These alphas are movable within the ribbon.

Because this card is going to sign by my whole family, I need extra space for us to sign, so I've included a large foldable blank piece for signature.

Since I completed this card, I think I can have a better sleep tonight. I will be working on my nephew's birthday card tomorrow. Another day, another challenge!

Good Night and thank you again for dropping by.

Cardstock: Stampin Up
Pattern Paper: Making Memories
Accessories: ribbon, Spare Part slider alphas, Jolee's embellishment
Additional Tools: Cuttlebug embossing folder, SU border punch and my soon retired sewing machine.

Birthday log Candy from Debbie of Passion for Crafts

Good day to you all! I didn't do any craft yesterday. I spent sometimes with my family. Was at my sister's for most of the day. However, I also surfed through the internet and visited many other crafters' blogs when I got home. I was amazed how much inspirations. encouragements and ideas I got from these talented crafters.

I also came across from Debbie's blog and just wanted to post her birthday blog candy in case if you haven't see it yet. This blog candy will be closed this coming Saturday on May 23rd.

My niece in California is graduating in a couple weeks. One of my sisters in Canada will be going to California to attend her graduation. I better work on her graduation card tomorrow. Hopefully I will come up with some good idea.

Once I get my card made, I will post the photo on my blog. Meanwhile, I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Copic Challenge - blonde hair

Hello to you all! Today, weather is quite mild. After my DD finished her hip hope class, we went to a book store to pick up some books for my friend's daughter who lives in Hong Kong. Hopefully, I would be able to package them up and mail it out on Tuesday since Monday is a holiday in Canada.

We had a pretty quiet evening, so I was hiding downstair to work on my Copic Chanllenge card. I used the Spring Rain Tilda for this card. Looking at her for a while and tried to think of a theme for this card. The more I looked at her the more I felt her expression looked somewhat a little sad. It clicked to me that I wanted to do a caring for others card theme.

Friday Sketch

Thanks for stopping by especially for those who left me those sweet comments. I will try to keep this blog update as much as possible. It might not be everyday, but will try my best.

Well, TGIF. Since I don't have to work tomorrow and get to sleep in. Hooray!

I completed the card for Friday Sketchers. The image on the left will be the Sketchers for this week and which was sketch by Claudia Rosa. Since I have so many pattern paper hiding in my storage, rather than getting new ones, I decided to dig out what I have. After having fun searching each drawer, I found a package of Sei paper. I choose the DP that I was going to use and then choose the Copic colors to try my best to color the image that can go with the DP.

Here are the things I've used:
Cardstock: Stampin Up - Tempting Turquoise
DP: SEI - Granny's Kitchen series
Ink: Memento & Copic
Copic markers: Y06, Y11, Y13, Y00, E00, E21, E33, E35, E37, B00, B02, BG01, R20, C1, C3, C5, C7
Embellishments & Accessories: Dress it up butterflies embellishment, Making Memories trims, Stampin Up ribbon, rhinestone.

Since this challege is now completed, my next project that I am thinking of.... might be the Copic Challenge No. 4
I think I better go clean up the mess on the craft table now. Wish you all a happy weekend and thank you again for dropping by!

Try to keep up with my blog

I started this blog since September 2008 and never really have any motivation to keep it up. I think I really should try to update this and post all my cards.

I love Magnolia stamps. Since I just received my Chasing Butterfly bundle a few days ago, I couldn't wait to try them out. Here is one of the cards I made from one of the stamps from this bundle. The stamps were purchased from one of my favorite online stores.

http://www.magnoliastamps.us/store/index.php

The card size is 5 .25" x 5.25".

Designer Paper: Crate Paper

Cardstock: Stampin Up

Image: Magnolia Picking Lilac Tilda, sentiment from SU

Accessories: Stampin Up Ribbon, Stampin Up Boarder punch, Flower Soft, Stickle

Ink: Memento, Copic Markers

Here is the card front

This is the inside of the card.

I started this card couple days ago, but stopped it for a while due to no fresh idea. What I did was I choose the two DP and cut them into pieces first, then colored the image and applied the flower soft. These pieces were laid on my craft table for a while. Couldn't decide whether I should use the sewing machine or not. At the end, I was being lazy and just got them together with adhesive. LOL. After all, it is completed!

Thanks for stopping by!
