Your Next Stamps Challenge #10 + other challenges

Good morning everyone!! Welcome to the #10 YNS Challenge. Challenge this time is hosted by one of our talented Starlet Angela. This time Angela would like to challenge you to make a creation using the color of "Spring".

This time I made a diorama card using three of seven stamps from the "Windswept Fhiona" stamp set from Your Next Stamp.

I am using this creation for the following challenges:
Incy Wincy Designs challenge #30 - PUNCH IT OUT
Pollycraft Monday Challenge #34 - Double up (use two images - Two different mushroom images on first and second panel)
Practical Scrappers - Flowers
A Spoon Full of Sugar #91 - Spring is in the Air

Here is my finished card. The three images are the SUN, the MUSHROOMS on the front and the MUSHROOMS in the middle panel.

Here is the side view. I've added the flowers embellishment and the spring colors 1/2 pearls.

I took a few pictures in different angles to show you what I put in the middle and the back of this diorama card. As you can see, I added the flower lace trim and some Prima flowers.

You can see the the mushroom images in the middle panels that are different than the ones on the top panel. I tried to use the spring colors on them to stay in a spring theme.

Thanks for coming by and that's all I have to share for today. Tomorrow I have another challenge card to show you :o)

Tutorial - Coloring Hair using Copics

Hello everyone! Today I would like to do something different. Instead of posting a project, I would like to post a hair color tutorial. As many of you may know that I don't do tutorial that often.

First of all, I would like to thank those of you who emailed me regarding questions on hair colors using Copics. I am quite surprised (Blushed) on how many emails I received requesting hair colors on my projects and also many requests in how to do hair colors. So I thought I will try my best to do a tutorial post and hope this somewhat help you although I am not very good either myself.

You can also see this tutorial at Club Anime's blog of Instyle Stamps as well!

For this tutorial, I used an image (Sitting Kylah) from InStyle Stamps for my sample. I used three Copic markers on her hair and they are - E49, E37 and E41.

I normally use the darkest color first on hair. So in this case, E49 will be the first marker to use. One thing to remember is that when coloring the wave/curl on her hair, use the tip of the marker to follow the direction of her wave (ie. if her wave is a "C" shape, then move your brush using anti-clockwise direction. On the other hand, if her wave is a "J" shape, then you will move your brush with clockwise direction). See pictures below.

Next step is to use the E37 to blend/brush from edge of the previous color, but don't forget to leave some white space for the shadowing later with a lighter marker.

Step #3 is to use E41 to fill up the white space. I like to brush out the dark colors along on a piece of scrap paper when coloring as sometimes the lighter marker tend to pick up some dark color on it's tip when blending with dark color. That way, your light shadowing won't get too dark.

At last I will use E37 again to do a little touch up and there you are. Her hair is done!!

I hope this tutorial somehow will give you some inspirations on doing hair colors for your images. Thanks for stopping by again to give me support. Without your visiting, I won't have any blogging mojo :o)

Ok, now to my projects today. I am also using this card for some challenge:
Hand Full of Stamps Challenge #16 - Open the Fun

The first project is made using a "Lucky the Dog" stamp. Here is my finished card. I choose three DP that are related to doggy theme and used some Jolee's embellishments for additional touch to match up with this doggy them.

Here is a closer view of this happy doggy. I smile every time I look at him, he is such a happy dog :o)

My next project is a fish stamp from the Fhiona series. My daughter wanted some fish for her birthday, so we bought her some "Mickey Mouse" fish for her birthday. Have you heard of them? It has a Mickey Mouse logo on it's tail and that is what the name come from. She now has to learn how to take care of the fish by herself (except her dad is the one who clean up the tank). By the inspiration of those fish, I did this card up with some fishy theme. I think this stamp image has great potential for party favor box for those gold fish cracker snack. That's it. That would be one of my idea for my daughter's birthday party although it's not here until end of the year, lol.

Here is another project I made. The image of this card is called "Fhiona's Pet Fish".

Closer view of this little cute fish tank. I added some stickle for sparkle.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope to see you again soon :o)
